People who have run nMonte simulations found Sicilian Bell Beaker (Sicanian?) to have a 90%+ correlation with Mycenaean, which means they are substitutable for one another in modeling. On PCAs also, the Sicilian Bell Beaker plots very close to Mycenaeans and Minoans.

I assume a lot of the pre-Greek people of western Anatolia shared similarities to Greeks too.

So the question is... with what means can we determine how much of the "Mycenaean" and "Minoan" like DNA is actually from Greek colonization, versus similar preexisting populations?

In Turkey it's impossible

Thracians ruled west coast anatolia before, and there is Bulgarian, Romanian trace there then Greeks came, then other people came... and it all mixed.

Remember that Thracians were in Greece before Greeks as well:

These Greek people who made their arrival between 1900-1400 BC in four waves - the Achaean, the Ionian, the Dorian, and the Aeolian - found the Carpatho-Danubian Pelasgians (calling themselves Thracians) at home. The above-mentioned Greek people defeated us several times, managing to occupy the southern part of the Balkan Peninsula. Then they took over Asia Minor

What about in Sicily?

My guess is the only major difference between Minoans and Sicanians is a small amount of WHG type admixture in Sicanians but otherwise it's very difficult to distinguish the two.

I really don't know. Can't speak about that.
