Mines around 10%, the highest ive seen was 14% within one of my relatives. Im pretty sure thats the highest youre going to see.
West asia and east med are much much higher. This is because the Seljuks had the greatest influence in nortwestern Iran
and Azerbaijan. genetically and culturally.

On which test? Last time I checked the Azerbaijanis were only 5-7% East Eurasian. And I assume in Iran they are even closer to the West Iranic speakers living in Iran.

5-7% is way too small for those azeris who have mongoloid features. you can find iranian azeris and northern azeris with mongoloid features.

They are a rather small minority. But anyway, features do not matter much in this case, we were talking about autosomal DNA results. On average Azerbaijanis seem to be 5-7% Mongoloid, not 10-15%. Maybe there are pockets of outliers someplace (I read something about the Qarapapaqs) but they clearly don't represent the entire ethnicity.

(it should be noted the 'Ancestral Altaic' component is in fact not East Eurasian).

There are outliers yeah. Most are just Turkified locals, anywhere from Georgian, to Kurds and other Iranians that used to live in that region. There are some who have a greater Turkic ancestry which is clearly visible in their phenotypes. They don't look west Asian what so ever, they look more like Turkmen and probably cluster closer to them than locals.

What about your results? Have you tested autosomally?
