Since some parts of my ancestry are still a mystery and the DNA tests sometimes give me mixed messages.

Guess how slavic you think i look. And if you can spot any, where do you think it comes from? (country/region)

Sure.

According to my family tree i am 75% Danish 25% Polish. But weirdly enough Russian/belarussian keeps showing up stronger than polish in some admixtures on gedmatch.

Not very accurate really. Well, in terms of major regions like North/South/East Europe it's somewhat accurate but smaller regions it's pretty bad.

The genetic communities thing they have is pretty cool though and it's accurrate in my case atleast but id rather go for 23andMe now if i could change it.

In their new update im down to 2% Eastern european 2% Baltic haha go figure.....Was 21% eastern european in their last update.

Do 23andme is my recommendation.

Yeah, I did 23andme and was reasonably happy with it; still waiting for a major breakthrough in DNA tests though, so I guess I'll hold off. From the sounds of it, the old AncestryDNA was much better than the new one. Did you get any Finland/Northwest Russia or Balkan on the first test to compliment your 21% Eastern Euro?

I see some similarity. The Polish guy would probably pass in places other than Poland as well. Maybe not as typical, but could probably pass as British for example, but the OP even more so I think. But again, not easy to place for me. I think I've seen some similar looking American whites who are mostly of mixed Euro descent.

If im remembering correctly i think AncestryDNA went from 5000 reference samples to 16000 samples with their update. I guess it leaves a bigger room for error, that might be the explanation.

Yeah, the older version i had 6% Finnish, that got switched to 2-6% Baltic with the new update.

MyHeritage seems to love their Balkan reference i got a whopping 18,8% Balkan...which is obviously a mistake, it should be straight eastern european.

But yeah man wait for a breakthrough. Only thing i might do in the future are Y-DNA and MtDNA just to see where my male-line in paticular stems from. I have atleast 350+ years of my male line being exactly where i live atm. which is pretty funny. Interresting to see if it's a scandinavian haplogroup or not.
