Other than Papuans (94.59%) and Melanesians (68.72%), all other Eurogenes K13 populations have an Oceanian % in the single digits.
The European populations with the highest Oceanian % are as follows:
1. Chechen 1.05%
2. North_Swedish 0.88%
-. Italian_Jewish 0.88%
4. Finnish 0.81%
5. Ukrainian_Lviv 0.75%
-. Moldavian 0.75%
7. Swedish 0.71%
8. East Finnish 0.69%
9. Portuguese 0.67%
10. West_German 0.64%
It should also be noted that both La_Brana-1 (5.25%) and MA-1 (3.69%) have a very high Oceanian component.
Surprisingly I've got a high Oceanian %, that is ... 1.31%
# Population Percent
1 East_Med 26.13
2 Baltic 19.8
3 North_Atlantic 19.5
4 West_Med 17.71
5 West_Asian 13.98
6 Oceanian 1.31
7 Red_Sea 1.27
8 Sub-Saharan 0.25
9 Amerindian 0.06
This is way higher than the average % of the populations to which my parents belong (Greek_Thessaly: 0.32%, Central_Greek: 0.56%).
Actually, the population whose average Oceanian % (1.27%) is closest to mine are ... the Velamas people of India ("a caste found mainly in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana").
My profile is Greek with a Balkan slant:
1 Greek_Thessaly @ 5.957218
2 Bulgarian @ 8.100107
3 Romanian @ 11.053867
4 Central_Greek @ 11.704517
Actually, I've got a high Baltic % (19.80) - somewhere between that of French and Southwest_English and a low Red Sea one (1.27%) - similar to Polish, so this comes as a surprise.
Regarding non-European components, beyond the high Oceanian % (1.31), I've also got 0.25% Sub-saharan, i.e. the same as the Kol - "some of the Austroasiatic tribal groups of India", Altaian - "a Turkic people living in the Siberian Altai Republic and Altai Krai" and Shors - "a Turkic people in the Kemerovo Oblast in Russia" peoples, while on the other hand I've got:
0 South Asian (like a Sardinian or La_Brana-1)
0 East Asian (like a Sardinian, Spanish_Extremadura, or MA-1)
0 Siberian (like Spanish_Extremadura)
0 Northeast_African (like Ukrainian_Lviv or La_Brana-1).
I wonder how the above make sense, and what plausible explanation(s) could there be for that 1.31% Oceanian...
