True. The Muslim Greek population was mainly in Ioannina, Peloponnese, Kozani and Crete before the revolt began. After the revolt some are killed, some escaped to Albania and assimilated among Albanians and Torbeshi's. Some escaped to the Western Thrace and assimilated among Turks. Some escaped to Turkey with Turks.

On the other hand, the main origin of Greece migrators in population exchange was Thessaloniki(Yannitsa-Kozani-Kilkis-Langaza), Serres, Drama, and Kavala. They were all Turkmen settlement. Muslim Greeks who came Turkey were bilingual both Greek and Turkish, some even couldn't speak Turkish, on the other hand, Turks only could speak Turkish. According to the state archive, only 1.138 people got Turkish language education after they migrated to Turkey.

As far as i know, some of them are Muslim Greeks (convert) and some of them are really Turks with certain Siberian and East Asian admixture even if it’s only around 0-5%.

I saw totally 3 Cretan Turk results and two samples scored 5% Mongoloid and other scored 2% Mongoloid. The one with 2% is probably a convert, because s/he never had any Turkic group at oracles. But the others with 5% had 14%-17% Turkmen/Chuvash/Nogay admixture.

Was the text describing Turks as Oghuz? That term got outdated since Turks were converted to Islam

The Greek/Cretan term referring to the oghuz in the text was "οξουζηδες" (pronounced in greek oksouzides). Both laz and oghuz were mentioned as turks iirc.

As far as i know, some of them are Muslim Greeks (convert) and some of them are really Turks with certain Siberian and East Asian admixture even if it’s only around 0-5%.
