Maybe someone can give some good input here, but I am curious about the Eurogenes K36 mapping here:

https://gen3553.pagesperso-orange.fr/ADN/similitude.htm

What I found strange with my own result was that my Dutch and Danish scores were both 85+ and hence dark red, but North German was 84 and standard red. Not much of a difference but are Danes and Dutch more similar to each other and to the English than North Germans? If so why do you think that would be?

Secondly, do you think its safe to call myself genetically Anglo-Saxon? I am something like 50% English, 25% German and Dutch (5% of that being Dutch), and 25% Irish. On my Eurogenes K15 plotting my result was Dutch-like:

and Eurogenes K36 map placement also put me as Dutch:

While there were Franks in the Netherlands as well, it's well known that there were Frisians and Saxons too, especially in the north, who should be close to the Anglo-Saxons, which is interesting since my top 3 scores on Eurogenes K13 are:

1 Orcadian @ 4.072238
2 North_Dutch @ 4.296285
3 Danish @ 4.843082

Am I an Anglo-Saxon genetically?

You obviously have some Anglo-Saxon Ancestry. You are a mix of many populations with anglo saxons probably being one of them. I would call you Northwest European.

Yeh generally Dutch and Danes are a little closer to Brits than North Germans on k36 and some academic studies. Though they look more like Germans

Interesting thanks for the reply. I wonder what it is that would make the Dutch and Danes closer, seems going just by geography you would think they'd be more distant to each other with the North Germans being the in between.

I suppose being a mix it is indeed best to just say Northwest European, but I wonder if given that English is my predominant ancestral component if my English ancestry is more Anglo-Saxon-like since you would think being 1/4 Irish would not allow my being 1/4 German/Dutch to pull me more eastward, or in other words that I should probably plot in Britain more. I suppose its possible since most of my known English ancestry is from the south and east, with a smaller cluster from around the Cotswolds and the Manchester area.

I wouldn't try to take these k15, k36 or even G25 PCA's too literally with regards to your ancestry. My mother is English and plots right under the Danish dot in K15, and my father is Irish and is firmly in the North Germanic cluster in K36.

I think its largely due to the fact that Brits/Dutch and Maybe Danes to some extent descend from the same subset of Corded ware people, one of the single grave groups, as you move into NW Europe genetic distances get smaller and smaller, the genetic affinity of these groups is just part of that trend. Germans may descend from slightly broader range of ancestral groups. Germans also have recent eastern input. Anglo Saxon Invasion had a sizable genetic impact too which makes these populations closer.
