I need to ask Mingle something. If me and happycow don't have direct Berber ancestry in our genepool then why do we have significant Iberomaurusian that is highly found in today's Maghrebi peoples?

There were Berber migrants to the region 200 years ago when the French began to invade Morocco and Algeria. This is what my Algerian friend told me:

Interesting, I know there is a deep relation between Algeria and Palestine maybe that has to do with this. Also both Algeria and Palestine were under the control of the Ottoman Empire, I wouldn't be surprised if there were any Algerians ending up in Palestine.

My great grandmother told to my mom that there had been plenty of Moroccan families in her village and other neighboring villages. We used to have a neighborhood in Jerusalem called the Moroccan street that was 700 years old before it was destroyed in 1948.

Yeah I've heard about this too, the story that someone told me is that Salahedin Al Ayubi settled Moroccans in Palestine (the ones he recruited in his army), dont know if this story is true or not.
