Most of them are Eastern Europeans, some are from Anglo-Saxon countries (they probably have Eastern European ancestry too), and some matches are from Asia Minor, Central and East Asia.

Probably not too many Kurds do DNA tests? (This is my guess)

I think I would have even more matches if more Szekely Hungarians (Szeklers), Gagauz, Pomak, etc people did DNA tests (people from these ethnicities who are genetically close to me)

I don’t understand how people have thousands of matches lol

The biggest base of customers of 23andme is in the US. When i tested in 2011 or so i used to have a very low number as well, while people of jewish or british background used to have thousands of relatives. Meanwhile my numbers have increased over time. I wonder what they have now, maybe tens of thousands.
