My parents don't care much about it but they allowed me to test them.

I told my parents about it and they said it's alright.
On the other hand, they are not really interested in testing themselves. They always tell me: ,,you did the test and you're almost 100% East European, what else do you expect from us?'' lol

I can recommend telling them that this is a hobby for you. Then they might actually become more open, as they will know what you are going to spend some of your free time on.

Yeah xD My results are certainly not average. I expected myself to be at least 10% Western European (generally Hungarians are 10-20% Western European or even more). The Jewish was one of the biggest surprise, I have no idea where it comes from.
The Scandinavian is another mistery, I think it's not really Scandinavian, but maybe old Saxon/Swabian admixture, maybe.
And the Italian on FTDNA is surely not Italian, but some Balkan ancestry too.

Yes I saw your resulrs, not simmilar to the average hungarian, that was a shock for them or they was like "ok nice" ?

I'm not very interested in Ancestry, I was talking about Gedmatch. If you already have the raw data, you can do it now.

My parents opinions differ. My mother isn't against dna tests, she just isn't interested in taking one herself and would consider it a waste of money.
My father on the other hand had been talking about doing one for years, way before these tests became mainstream. It was so important to him he said he didn't care what it cost.

My dad is a tightwad and I doubt he is very interested. I might be able to talk him into it if I bought the test for him. My sister wanted him to participate in the Manx y-dna study when they were doing it and he agreed to it, but I don’t think my sister ever got the ball rolling. My moms a bit of a conspiracy theorist but I had her talked into it, then she found out she had cancer around the same time and has been on chemo. She’s been having problems with her white blood cells being low so I don’t even know if she will even be able to now.

I said to my parents, they were just curious what came out, I'm 24, they won't tell me what to not buy lol.
My dad agreed to it but wasn't really interested in his ancestry results only slightly in the health reports. Thought it was a waste of time and money. xD

My father thinks ancestry tests are a way the government secretly stores our dna without consent, haha.
Needless to say, I will never be able to test him.

My mother had not any problem in making her test, but I had to work hard to convince my father.
He said that his DNA was a very intimate thing and that he did not want others to have such sensitive information.
And actually he is absolutely right, we are paying to give some very important data to unknow persons about ourselves that they should pay us for.

My dad was originally skeptical of DNA testing but later on agreed to do it himself lol :D my mom wanted to do it in hopes of learning something, so she did it. They enjoyed seeing their results....but they said a few funny things about it I remember like "they now know who you are as a person" and "oh great they have a copy of your genome". My grandma eventually did it too  but was the most disapproving at first lolol she told me "is that a good idea, what if you see something on your results you don't like, you won't be able to unsee it."

They dont give him much credibility, but I have not insisted on taking it. I think I could convince them but they think it is a waste of money

Mine reacted like this too when I suggested it to them. The main reason apparently was that they didn't want their genetic information stored in a company overseas, which is true. Couldn't find anything to beat that statement :D
