Hello, i need some help from our knowlegeable forum members.

Story is:

My grandma is Russian with ancestry being half from Syasstroy in Leningrad oblast and half from Tver oblast. When i tested her i was expecting her to get a lot of Finnish, given the location of Syasstroy being populated by finnic tribes in medieval times, later to be russified. However i was a bit surprised by her results, as she came out almost half Finnish-like, while i expected it to be more in range of 20-40%, keeping in mind that Tver had a low amount of such ancestry. So an i had a thought that her Syasstroy part may be fully finnish given her results.

This thing was in back of my mind for some time, and i decided to get to the truth.

There is a first cousin of my grandma sharing with her the Syasstroy part, and her other side being form a village couple kilometers away aswell. It's obviously a best candidate for a test, however i got a question on if it's possible to get the results of overlapping segments. I guess it should be enough, considering they should share around a quater of dna.

If anyone has better ideas on solving my question you are free to share your opinions.

Hello, i need some help from our knowlegeable forum members.

You can both check on Gedmatch one-to-one to see what are common segments. Then in AdmixtureStudio is possible to test in every calculator only selected segments of specific raw file.

interesting results.
I put her on a Slavic vs Baltic vs Finnic PCA, and she has higher Baltic+Finnic than any of the Russian samples currently in G25.

interestingly, the closest to her is a sample from Tver (blue triangle)

Does it mean, that she has lower EEF or what?

Edit: Is it Tver-402?

she clusters closer to finnic peoples than any of the sample g25 russian populations in the source, even more than the finnic admixed russian samples. and broken down I would say she is about 18-20% slavic russian and 80% finnic. broken down even further than that this person gets around 92% balto-slavic and 8%-9 east asian uralic which is slightly less than what karelians and eastern finns would get.
