According to 23andMe:

Neanderthal Ancestry
288 Variants

https://you.23andme.com/ancestry/all-reports/

https://ibb.co/xGNtdt2

You have more Neanderthal DNA than 94% of other customers.

Neanderthals were prehistoric humans who interbred with modern humans before disappearing around 40,000 years ago.

You inherited a small amount of DNA from your Neanderthal ancestors. Out of the 7,462 variants we tested, we found 288 variants in your DNA that trace back to the Neanderthals.

All together, your Neanderthal ancestry accounts for less than ~2 percent of your DNA.

You have Neanderthal DNA that may influence your traits

This report highlights associations between your Neanderthal variants and your traits, but it does not explore how other factors may be involved — such as your many other DNA variants, your environment, or your lifestyle.

You have one variant associated with
having difficulty discarding rarely-used possessions.

You have three variants associated with
being less likely to have a fear of heights.

You have one variant associated with
being less likely to have hitchhiker's thumb.

You have one variant associated with
being less likely to sneeze with a full stomach.

According to yourDNAportal: "Neanderthal were archaic humans - they became extinct about 40,000 years ago after interbreeding with modern humans. Appearing in Europe and West Asia, they expanded into Southwest, Central and Northern Asia. There were possibly three separate episodes of interbreeding; one soon after leaving Africa; another after the ancestral Melanesians had developed into a different group and would go on to breed with Denisovans; then a later third interbreeding with East Asians. There is some speculation that Neanderthals may have used simple boats to cross water."

Unlock your full Neanderthal report and discover how many Neanderthal variants you have
Anatomically modern humans (AMH) bred with other archaic groups like Neanderthal and Denisovan, while other “ghost" populations are yet to be identified. The amount of Neanderthal variants that modern people have inherited varies between populations. The maximum level is around four percent, which is significant. This test covers 3,805 markers (SNPs) and by comparing your genome data you will discover how many Neanderthal alleles from these samples you have.

Note: If your test provider is Geno 2.0 you will unfortunately receive very few results; as a consequence we suggest that you wait until Geno 2.0 have expanded their sampling coverage before you unlock this test.

Yep, one Leander the Neander, whom coaches shielded from teachers at my school as too valuable to the football team to be failed in class. Sadly, without his coach's watchful eye to guide him he meandered to the school pool at closing time and took a header into the kiddie section, well, need I say more? Still, the funeral was well attended.

That's good.

Both modern Europeans and East Asians carry Neanderthal genes. The Neanderthal genes of Europeans may be between 1.5-2.4, and the proportion of Neanderthals in East Asians is in the range of 2.5-3.7.

No reasons to be ashamed! Only that Neanderthals were likely the first to invent glue and thus probably the first to sniff some glue.

I remember being in the highest percentile when i tested like 5 years ago, now looks less intense with all the updates.

You have one variant associated with
having a worse sense of direction.

You have one variant associated with
being less likely to have a fear of heights.

You have two variants associated with
being more likely to prefer dark chocolate over milk chocolate.

True, true.

I wonder though, if they count Denisovan stuff in there, especially for East Asians, Amerindians or those more influenced by that branch of Neanderthal.

That image capture is of old results? Because I have less variants than you but I have more Neanderthal than 84% of customers.

It has no sense. How can I be more Neanderthal than 84% of customers with 266 variants out of 7462 variants tested, and you only more than 64% with 286 out of 2872?

No, I took that screenshot today. Unusual indeed. I did it with the V4 chip, perhaps it is related.
