When Álmos, the future Grand Prince of the Hungarians, was about 10 years old, the seven related tribes formed a confederation in Etelköz, called "Hétmagyar" (Seven Magyars). Their leaders, the Seven chieftains of the Magyars, besides Álmos, included Előd, Ond, Kond, Tas, Huba and Töhötöm, who took a blood oath, swearing eternal loyalty to Álmos.

Magyars are a Ugro-Bulgar symbiosis: a symbiosis of two cultures alien to one another; a symbiosis of the steppe and Siberia; a symbiosis that ripened for two centuries in southern Urals; a symbiosis that left a mark on world history; a symbiosis that gave us Bashkirs and Hungarians.

These are 2 Hungarian Conquerer samples that make up my %30 Hungary Conquerer. I used ID's Medieval Calculator. They're Turkic for sure but it appears they have a small Slavic-Balkan mix as well. Which is normal considering they were in Central Europe.

The Seven chieftains of the Magyars were the leaders of the seven tribes of the Hungarians at the time of their arrival in the Carpathian Basin in AD 895.

In Budapest, Hungary, the Heroes' Square, better known as Hősök tere, has a representation of the different chieftains at the base of the column. At the base of the column is a group of seven mounted figures representing the Magyar chieftains who led the Hungarian people into the Carpathian basin. In the front is Árpád, considered the founder of the Hungarian nation. Behind him are the chieftains Előd, Ond, Kond, Tas, Huba, and Töhötöm.

Blood oath

I believe the Seven Chieftains, along with Kurszan, Kende of the Magyars, or their spiritual leader, were exclusively Bulgars.

The kende was one of the kings of the dual-monarchy of the early Hungarians along with the gyula or war-chief. The function of the kende is believed to have been a religious one. At the time of the Magyar migration to Pannonia, the kende was named Kurszán. Upon Kurszán's death in a raid in approximately 904 CE, the office was taken up by the gyula Árpád, creating a single-head monarchy for Hungary.

Mitogenomic data indicate admixture components of Central-Inner Asian and Srubnaya origin in the conquering Hungarians (https://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0205920)

Our results show that the Conquerors assembled from various nomadic groups of the Eurasian steppe. Population genetic results indicate that they had closest connection to the Onogur-Bulgar ancestors of Volga Tatars. Phylogenetic results reveal that more than one third of the Conqueror maternal lineages were derived from Central-Inner Asia and their most probable ultimate sources were the Asian Scythians and Asian Huns, giving support to the Hungarian Hun tradition. The rest of the lineages most likely originated from the Bronze Age Potapovka-Poltavka-Srubnaya cultures of the Pontic-Caspian steppe. Available data imply that the Conquerors did not have a major contribution to the gene pool of the Carpathian Basin.

Volga Bulgars were one of the few groups which had the same partial horse burial customs [54] and similar grave goods as the Conquerors. Both groups are characterized by similar anthropological types [55], and practiced identical symbolic trepanation customs [56] which is documented with such a high frequency just among the related Danube Bulgars [57]. Historical data link both groups to the Onogurs [58], the Conquerors must have belonged to the Onogur tribal union, as the name “Hungarian” is derived from “Onogur” [5,59].

Taken together the direct genetic relation of the Conquerors to Onogur-Bulgar ancestors of Volga Tatars is very feasible.

Archaeogenetic analysis revealed East Eurasian paternal origin to the Aba royal family of Hungary (https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2024.03.20.585718v1?ct)

Y-DNA: N-A9416 (https://www.yfull.com/tree/N-A9416) / N-A9416 (https://discover.familytreedna.com/y-dna/N-A9416/tree)

Abstract
The Aba family played a pivotal role in the early history of Medieval Hungary dominating extensive territories and giving rise to influential figures. We conducted an archaeogenetic examination of remains uncovered at the necropolis in Abasar, the political centre of the Aba clan, to identify Aba family members and shed light on their genetic origins. Utilizing Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) data from 19 individuals, complemented by radiocarbon measurements, we identified 6 members of the Aba family who shared close kinship relations. Our analysis revealed that 4 males from this family carried identical N1a1a1a1a4~ haplogroups. Significantly, our phylogenetic investigation traced this royal paternal lineage back to Mongolia, strongly suggesting its migration to the Carpathian Basin with the conquering Hungarians. Genome analysis, incorporating ADMIXTURE, Principal Component Analysis (PCA), and qpAdm, revealed East Eurasian patterns in the studied genomes, consistent with our phylogenetic results. Shared Identity by Descent (IBD) analysis confirmed the family kinship relations and shed light on further external kinship connections. It revealed that members of the Aba family were related to members of prominent Hungarian medieval noble families the Arpads, Bathorys and Corvinus as well as to the first-generation immigrant elite of the Hungarian conquest.

Besides the royal lineage, only one Hg
with obvious Asian origin was detected: R1a1a1b2a2a3c2~. It belongs to the Asian subbranch
of R1a, specifically R1a-Z2125, which emerged in the Middle-Late Bronze Age among people
of the Sintashta and Andronovo cultures. It was widespread among the Scythians and their
descended populations (29, 34–36). The sub-Hg found in Abasár has been detected in Hun
samples (37), and its supergroups were prevalent among Huns and Avars in the Carpathian
basin (32). It has also been found among the Pazyryk and Kangju peoples (38, 39). Today,
R1a1a1b2a2a3c2~ is primarily observed in males from Eastern and Central Eurasia, with a
higher prevalence in Russian Tatars.
