True, that can be considered Germanic but it doesn't equal a category Germanic, i. e. a category that represents all Germanic in general because MyH also provides "North and West European" that may be partly 50%, partly 100%, Germanic depending on by what folks the testee gets that.

Btw. I get > 37% (fake) Scandinavian so this tool of MyH is really for rolling eyes.

I bet with your ancestry 23andme is one of the only ones who can identify your mixture with accuracy :p Some of your results seem to vary pretty greatly :D

Yes well not even 23andme is perfect but they are the closest for sure in my opinion at least :), and identified accurate locations. Having my relatives tested on there as well has also helped verify things especially with their chromosome browser and tools. My only gripe with 23andme is that they underestimate French & German now, however I believe some of it is hiding in broadly categories.

And yeah results from other sites have varied quite a bit, which I kind of expect at this point I expect most websites to have some trouble with me lol. And of course DNA isn't inherited evenly but this doesn't explain all the differences lol.

23andMe overestimates French & German for me. It says 40.3%. I have only a tiny amount of French & German.

The most accurate test for me so far is Family Tree DNA's Family Finder's "myOrigins", but it overestimates my "Central Europe" at 41%.

If you are part French, that would explain any Greek-Italian admixture in your result, often French results are illustrated as being between both North and South Europe.

I hope the break down their more general categories like Scandinavian, Irish/Scottish/Welsh/, and Northwest Europe. I'd like to know what Scandinavian and Northwest components many British and Irish people are getting.

Myheritage had correctly identified the populations surrounding my ancestors! ;)
The red star represents all my ancestors for at least 10 generations (within a radius of 70 kms).

We'll see in the next update, but probably the only thing we can learn from this is to consider only the genetic center point that is quite close to the geographic center point of your ancestors.
It is impossible to have more details in my opinion

I've still got the message that my ethnicity results are being generated. None of my other kits have come back either.

Some people have reported getting slight changes in their results. Nothing drastic just percentage changes and losing some trace results.

Very slight modification: I’m now 91.3% Balkan (just Romanian genetic group is left, the other ethnic group disappeared) whereas before I was 89.2%. Also, one ethnicity (North African) disappeared.

Last time ancestry updated my results I literally got 1% less greek and 1% more balkan, while keeping the totally wrong 3% baltic ( which is utterly innaccurate).
Let's see what myheritage does which has me at 5% iberian ( for some f... up reason) and 80% greek and 15% balkan

Boring, I'm still half Eastern Euro, a quarter Baltic and a quarter Scandinavian.

My 'IllustrativeDNA' give me a similar germanic percentage if compared to yours (20-28% depending on the era with migration period being 28.2% Germanic) however my 'MyHeritage' results have 0 Germanic/Scandinavian admixture. It says I'm 89% slavic (Ukraine, Poland, Russia, Belarus), 8% Baltic and 1% Balkan. I wonder what that means.
