Hittite and proto-Iranians came from the same early PIEan source SOUTH of Caucasus. Not Yamnaya.

Exactly, most people FAIL to understand that ancient proto-Iranians were native to West Asia and had very little Steppes ancestry. Most Steppes ancestry in Kurds and Western Persians arrived much later with the Scythians and Parthians.

Many people fail to understand (or try to deny) that Steppes related ancestry came very late with the Scythians and later even with the Turkic tribes. Nothing to do with the original Aryans who were Caucaso-Gedrosian people (close to Kura-Araxes)..

Well, if you discussing the ancient Iranians it is not possible to mention them without the Kurds. Since it has been proven by Kurdish DNA that Kurds are the purest West Iranians. More pure than Persians and much, much more pure than Turkified Azeri.

Kurds are the pride of the ancient West Iranians (Gutians, Medes), the knights of the ancient Middle East!

I suppose Parthian genomes when and if they are published could show how much of this Kazakhstan Sarmatian DNA or some other Scythian DNA they carried.

They would also show how much admixture Kurds and other Iranians have from them. We need some place to fund their excavatian from Iran.
