Yes, that's probably the case. Did they identify as Ukrainian? Those results look typical to me for a person that's half Ukrainian and half Moldovan/Romanian.Quote:

I am not sure that paternal grandparents of my mother identified as Ukrainian, especially grandmother as she was from Chisinau. The weird thing is that my mother and her family always spoke Ukrainian and were Ukrainians according to their documents in Soviet times, but they looked differently from the rest. My mother even remembers being called a "Gypsy". There was an assimilation, I suppose. Even the surname looks like a Romanian surname with an added Ukrainian ending which I understand only now.Quote:
