Yes seems like you inherited more European type genes from your Ashkenazi side than Levantine.

Sorry to post here again. I was approved to join the Taxonomy group, however I cannot see anyone's post or make a new thread for my own taxonomy. What gives? LOL
sorry I figured it out!
Yeah, that's true.
The three theories are (because this relates to my haplogroup);
1. My ancestors were Iraqi Jews who migrated to Europe.
2. My ancestors were the original proto-Jews who migrated to Canaan with Abraham.
3. My ancestors were in the Babylonian captivity and then returned to Judea.
Or a combination. You're right though, I seem more Kurdish/Assyrian/Mandean than Druze/Levantine.
Why does Sephardim all of a sudden comes in the 6th place, while all other calculators don't even present Sephardim in all of my (2 populations approximations) top 10?

23andme says i'm 100 % European, and in Jtest i'm ony 5,27 % Ashkenazi, so I don't think there's a link to being partially Jewish my friend. I was hoping some people here would know if the new EUtest had more Sephardim samples.
The reason I ask this is because in no other calculator Sephardim was even mentioned, but I had on some calculators Ashkenazi after Southern Italian, Greek or Tuscan.
These calculators calculate the distance between my genome and the reference populalations they possess, am I right? So why does Sephardim comes along all of a sudden? (after Italian)
This doesn't mean that I got Sephardim ancestors, I know enough to be sure of that, but I also know that the Eutest is one of the better calculators out there on the market, so what did they adjust to get Sephardim in the list..? Oh and I don't need people to get me in their ''tribe''
these just show possible ancestries that could create your mix. not your actual ancestry. id say that Tuscan/SE England is probably close to what you are. SE England and Dutch are very close genetically.
I know that Chad, but the thing that I was pointing out is that NO other calculator incl. the older version of Eurogenes had Sephardim included..
So I would advice to read my question again, if you want to answer it. :thumb001: Oh and Tuscan isn't that accurate because it has to be Southern Italian, but I don't know the exact difference, I would guess that Tuscan samples have more Northern European, or less East Med.
Thanks anyway bud.
Well if i remember correctly Ashkenazic Jews tend to come out pretty similar to southern Italians genetically, although i don't know about Sephardim, perhaps they are fairly similar? Very minor variations in the numbers can make somewhat big differences in the mixed mode when you are dealing with similar populations i guess. If your Italian half is similar in many ways to Sephardim, it's not surprising it comes up as an option. If you have no substantial Jewish matches on 23&me or GEDmatch then probably it is not actually Jewish, but it is just a 'nearby' population? Pretty much as Chad said...
I got maybe 1 Jewish 3rd to distant cousin on 23andme and with Declared Ashkenazi Jewish I got one guy but he's from the Netherlands also..
My first match is from Naples (0.41% shared, 2 segments) and I more than a few Southern Italian matches there. ( Campania region, but also Sicily)
Now I got some Russian matches too, but they're on the last page of dna relatives, and also significant British matches, and one guy from Kazachstan, but his ''countries of ancestry'' shows a lot of German ancestors.
In countries of ancestry Italy is nr2 after The Netherlands, and i'm not really unsure of the fact i'm half Italian anymore due to more research I did. ( my first match along with other matches for me confirmed the possibility that my biological father is from Naples, that is too much of a coinsidence, and it was either that or French)
The only thing that came in mind was the fact that I never saw Sephardic as an option before after Southern Italian/Sicilian or Greek and Tuscan.
I've noticed that on Gedmatch almost all of my matches were of Dutch/German and British decent, and some Russians, but very few Italians.
Weren't there more ways to see the differences between Jewish and Southern Italian dna ?(perhaps other calculators like K36)
The second Austian on this forum, except that I'm a West-Ukrainian boyko highlander as far as I know. Abnormally low North_Sea component for the area and very high Alantic at this:

Spoiler!
Id say ask the forum members for results. One who is full southern Italian and another full askenazi in known ancestry. Maybe several to get an overall average. I'm sure there are several lurking around here. Have them post their various results. Maybe some Sephardi are lurking out there.
I have several matches with Ashkenazi's on 23andMe as well. It makes me curious since we cant find a shared ancestor. On the site describing Jtest averages, it seems every European scores Ashkenazi in small amounts. Maybe something core in Ashkenazi Jews was also in Neolithic migrants in smaller amounts. Anyone on here know the reason?

This is OT, so the mods can delete it if they want, but I just can't help myself here. Last night, I was googling something about the blonde gypsy child in the news, and a stormfront thread about it showed up in the Google results. Someone was trying to claim the official who announced the child's DNA results is a Jew who was trying to cover up white outrage.
