There's wealth only of men. I doubt Italy can't sustain 60 million people. It would be much better off if it didn't rely, like France, on market debt and an essentially foreign currency. Deceasing the population wouldn't increase the jobs.

A slow death. But Italy is still too big to fail. A failure of Italy would create problems within all the European countries inside EU.

Anyway there is a cruel clash between the various Italian lobbies to choose the reforms. The result is not obvious.
