California (Spanish colony until 1821) stands out as an economic power during the crisis of the 30. When USA is ruined and millions of people migrate to California, it is the only place where it seems that everything works relatevely well. The Californian farms continue to produce fruit for export to half the world. The star products: peaches, grapes and oranges. The California economy resists the crisis thanks to the crop fields are set with the Hacienda system (set by the Spanish) which allows large-scale production.
