No, I felt it needed a Norse touch so I added some runes (before adding the viking ship and the Icelandic illustration on the far right end).

It wouldn't make a good mascot. Turkey is an animal of the New World, of the American continent. It was unknown to Europe (and that's the continent that matters here) prior to the time of Columbus. So it weren't a really good representation.

The other thing is that Turkeys are butt-ugly! That's what they have in common with the nation Turkey and its people, btw.

I posted it a couple of times already, but here goes: Roman frescoes from Pompeii, Codex Manesse, Icelandic, Spanish and English medieval manuscripts, Dutch book of hours, painting by Giotto, Book of Kells, runes and a Romanian monestary mural. It does lack some Eastern European artwork, but I can't push anymore details into it.
