Notre Dame Cathedral on Fire

Notre Dame's interior is almost completey intact due to the architecture of the cathedral. The vaulted ceiling of heavy stone beneath the wooden roof, so that the church wouldn't completely burn down when the roof caught fire, and it managed to withstand the flames despite being 800+ years old.

I guess that is really good quality limestone. The walls and foundation are in good condition. The Cathedral will get repaired and reopen.

No word on who/what started the fire? I guess we'll have to make sure this "accident" is something of natural causes. Because most churches in the 21st century do not just go up in flames like that.
