Wasnt blonde hair basically of Germanic/Scandinavian origin? i dont know how pre Celtic Britons looked but it was probably much more brunet than now, blonde hair always seems to be linked to a Germanic origin.

Germanics and Scandinavians of course have the most blonde hair of all, but it is a part of the variation of all Caucasoid populations. There are even some in Iran/Afghanistan, after all.

True though that is probably the result of Russian migrations, the origin of blonde hair is probably ultimately from the Steppe where it has a genetic record going back 15000 years, i think it didnt arrive in Britain until quite late, the western French are very unblonde for their geographical position and probably resemble more ancient Britons.

I wrote it based that the R1b haplogroup types generally don't present high % of blondism as in Iberia, Ireland, (West France as above mentioned) having Ireland the lower % of blondism in Northern Europe. That blondism happens when there is an admixture with scandinavian or baltic populations. Since the British Isles are a part of the R1B group I presume it had more in common with iberians than scandinavians, with ofc the previously mentioned differences.

Still, it is unquestionable that the British look at least three times more similar to Danes and Norwegians than to Iberians. (Finns and possibly Swedes might be another matter).
