As for the initial question, it doesn't necessarily ruin it but everyone has their own preferences. Aesthetically I personally think that tattoos don't go with certain types of clothing on women, so it depends a lot on that person's style and personality.

Same with men. Although I've seen a couple of individuals (from both genders) who can pull it off.

Interesting... Though I don't consider a couple of small tats nothing weird, I always got that feeling that people covered in tattoos definitely got some issues.

Had this conversation with my Mother and Nephew last weekend. Historically in the USA men in the military, especially the Navy, would get tattoos. Often something associated with their fleet, unit, division etc. Then when biker gangs became a thing they started doing it.

Same for piercings indeed, i would even add the load of tacky jewelries on each fingers, wrists etc... as well as crazy multicolor manicures. By experiences, all this should make you run away.
