    Default Medieval Bosnia armors and swords

    From Zemaljski museum Sarajevo

    Some attempt to reconstruct

    Not sure how much is this historically accurate representation and how much is imagination of creator

    One Polish chronicler wrote about Bosnia knights who came to participate on tournament organized by Hungary, year 1412.
    He described them as "
    fast, fearless, and capable of handling with any weapon", and that any of other knights there can't be compared with them (Joani Dlugossi, "Historia Poloniae").

    Of course it's not 100% accurate, but Angus McBride's or other historical illustrators' work is much better compared to this one for example;

    A lot of people from different nations use that picture, they just change symbols.

    Hungarians with heavy cavalry probably had huge advantage in that clash. Did medieval Bosnia even had heavy cavalry?

    Just like the Serbs and Croats we copied Heavy Cataphract, don't need to fix what isn't broke

    Bosnia's strength lied in it's rangers, terrain and hit and run tactics. We did have a standing army (with copy pasting and perfecting Byzanto-Iranian horsemanship traditions) for few decades during our occupation of Dalmatia, but as soon as we turned over those rich coastal cities to our "Catholic brethren" in Italy to show how civilized we were we lost the source of the founding of our military

    Don't cry because it was short lasting, smile because it happened.
