Who burnt down the Holy Trinity Church in Dulwich Hill?
on Jun 24, 2013 | 19 comments
On the 21st April 2013, fire destroyed the historic Holy Trinity Anglican Church at Dulwich Hill. The Church was converted to a youth community centre nearly twenty years ago. In more recent years the community centre has catered for and accommodated troubled local youth, many of them from African and Muslim backgrounds.
The suburb has been rocked by the arson attack. Apparently there were problems at the community centre due to racial, social and even sectarian differences. Some residents of the local community have alleged that the perpetrators or arsonists could be disgruntled Muslim or African youth?
Reportedly, Muslim youth wanted to use the community centre to hold meetings for an Islamic group. It is alleged that the group in question made demands requesting that Christian symbols be removed from the Church building so the group’s meeting could be held at the centre, but their intolerant request was declined, resulting in the unwarranted arson attack as retaliation.
The iconic building and colourful Priest Father Dave Smith are well known throughout the local community and Sydney for their outreach work to disadvantaged youth. Father Dave has also been heavily involved in interfaith dialogue and also a supporter of Palestinian human rights. Father Dave also recently traveled to Syria on a humanitarian mission. Despite Father Dave’s outreach and support for Muslims it seems his kindness and goodwill have gone up in flames.
The Police and local Fire Brigade are now investigating whether the fire was deliberately lit. Father Dave has handed a list of possible suspects to the Police for their continuing enquiry. Father Dave said, “We think it’s probably one of the disgruntled lads in the area”. Father Dave also told the Police, “At the youth centre, our number one priority is to make it a safe place for local kids, and there are people who will compromise that safety. There are some people who just remain volatile and dangerous and you have to exclude them”. The volatile and dangerous multicultural element has reciprocated goodwill and acceptance with hate and arson.
The burning of Churches is synonymous with Islam. Islamists, both Sunni and Shia have been known to target Christian places of worship with arson and bomb attacks in Nigeria, Indonesia, Egypt and Ethiopia. Many of these Churches sustained attacks while religious services were being performed. In Indonesia over 500 churches have burnt by marauding Jihadists, intent on driving out Christians over the past twenty years. It has been reported that volatile terrorizing Islamic arsonists armed with machetes, guns and clubs also attacked any Christian attempting to flee the burning structures.
In Egypt, Coptic Christians face daily persecution and injustice at the hands of radical Salafi Muslim Brotherhood. Under Hosni Mubarak the indigenous Christians of Egypt enjoyed religious freedom and also protection. Hostilities and confrontation between Muslims and Christians have intensified since the Arab Spring. Since Mohammed Morsi won the general election in June 2012, the nation has witnessed a sharp rise in sectarian tension directed at Christians. The burning of Churches has become a regrettable adage to the Muslim Brotherhood forming theocratic government. In May 2011 Muslim mobs attacked two Cairo churches, which left 12 people dead, and over 200 injured.
The Quran is a manifesto littered with hate speech, intolerance and prejudice that calls for violence and intimidation against the non-believer or Kuffar. Acts of violence and hatred are permissible in the name of Allah when directed at non-Muslims. Incendiary verses of the Koran are too many to name. Below are a few Quranic verses inciting hatred, mistrust and aggression towards Jews, Christians and non-believers.
Quran 9:5: “Kill the non-believers where you find them”
Quran 5:51: “Don’t take Jews or Christians for friends. If you do, then Allah will consider you to be one of them”
Quran 9:29: “Fight against Christians and Jews until they pay the tribute readily, being brought low”
Quran 5:72: “Christians will burn in the fire”
The residents of Dulwich Hill and the surrounding areas deserve to know who is responsible for this most heinous and callous crime perpetrated against the peaceful good Samaritans of the Holy Trinity Church.
If you have any information on the identity of the perpetrator(s) or know of any unusual or suspicious occurrences prior to the fire please contact NSW Police on 000.

Apparently throwing eggs at mosques or smearing pig’s blood over them is a far more heinous and newsworthy crime than burning down a Catholic church which helps troubled Islamic ‘youth’. That must be true because I have seen or heard no mention of this event anywhere-perhaps it has been mumbled in somewhere between the football and the weather. But when the UKIP protesters against the murder of the English soldier were massing round a mosque the riot police were there in strength just as they would be here.
Police and government certainly have their priorities in the wrong order. But hopefully the Catholic Church will get its priorities right now, and send in a troop of Templar knights to destroy the mosques at Lakemba and Auburn. Europe knew how to respond to these acts of aggression and ingratitude in the 11th and 12th centuries.
If only the troubled Muslim and African youth would take their troubles back to where they came from.

If Father Dave knows who is responsible, he, and the police have a responsibility to publically identify the alleged perpetrators. To cover up these events to protect certain ‘protected species’is not good enough. This is the usual behaviour of the morally bankrupt political left. desperate to hide the woeful failure of the multicultural experiment.
Not good enough.
Father Dave? The ball is in your court. Police? ditto- name and shame. Release footage from local security cameras. or risk the general public becoming aware that you are now condoning and covering up ethnic crime.
Appeasement of ethnic crime & religious hatred is complicity.
Inner West Courier- a stooge for ethnic crime.

Since this episode took place there’s been a distinct lack of media coverage. It’s a real shame that the sense of community in the inner west of Sydney is such that no one seems to care. Where’s the outrage people? Not just a church, but a historic church. When evidence of history is destroyed, the victor can write the books as he sees fit. I am glad there are at least a few people looking for justice for this crime, although we all know when it comes to the courts of law the perpetrator/s will do little if any hard time.

Young Australian people or youths, call them what you will, do not burn churches as a rule.
Who is to blame?
You don’t need to be a rocket scientist.

Why should Christians help Moslems, when it is clear they only wish to bring harm to all Christians and with the help of Socialist sympathisers, destroy their right to freedom of Religious belief and faith.

Its a common ever emerging pattern. This is just one example of many. Christians as a unified front need to stand up and be heard. This kind of behaviour if let go unchecked, will only encourage more like it. amen.

As the old proverb goes, ‘A snake is always a snake’. Apologists like Father Dave are actually turning Christians away from the Church when they start accommodating non-Christians for the sake of interfaith dialogue etc. It is time Christians stopped pandering to Islam as Islam is totally opposed to our beliefs and secular way of life.

With labor in crisis, is party for freedom running for federal seats in Brisbane?

We are not registered yet so we encourage our fellow Australians to become party members to achieve party registration sooner. The party will definitely be ready to field candidates at the following federal election, by that time the Australian people will be looking for a grassroots patriotic party over Labor, Liberal and Greens.
The Labor party is in terminal crisis. Hopefully the party will collapse under the weight of betrayal.

Welcome to reality Father Dave. you are betraying yourself and your own congregation in favour of scoring a few points from the devil. Why don’t you read the q’ran and understand how evil this book is and speak out to banish this disgusting, primitive idealogical cult from our country.

Party for Freedom was only launched four months ago in Sydney. It is impossible to setup branches Australia wide in such a short period of time esp. when we rely on voluntary party representatives. We are currently intrerviewing prospective state representatives and also looking for more Australians to get involved and become party reps.and also candidates in the future. If you are interested please email me on: ‘nick.folkes@partyforfreedom.com.au’. Cheers

Are we not suprised this happened? Attacks by Muslims is not new and has been happening in Europe. The university of Lyon-Merde in France found this occurred more often by Muslims than not.

I just only discovered this article. Good on you for at least questioning what seems to me a “conspiracy of silence”. I have asked the “Father” who calls himself a “Priest” via twitter some questions like:
1. Are there any news about the burning down of his historic church in the middle of Sydney?
2. Does he know the arsenists and is he protecting them? If so why.
3. Why was he just recently travelling to Syria.
I got no answer.
Meanwhile I have heard and seen that he seems to be as passionately anti-Jewish, as he seems to be passionately pro-Islamic to a point where I wonder: “love everyone” is within the Christian doctrine, but agitate against the Jews and side with Islam would not be very “Christian”.
