Then by all means set me straight.
The Iraqis are currently our enemy? Sorry, I don't recall The Iraqi people ever being hostile to Canada (or the United States).

^ This is our enemy. And how do you deal with an enemy ?
You bomb 'em back to the year dot. That's how simple it is. And since we also have an enemy within they too should be dealth with using the most harshest ways at our disposal. And even when we would have a proper government that would be a government for Europe's preservation then we should still commit troops there until they will forever relinquish every claim on European soil and give up. Unconditional surrender.
My problem with this entire war is more and more not that they killed so many but that they lied about it.
Wake up and smell the coffee.

You're mistaking apathy for antipathy and support. I don't care that they're dying and I don't care about civilian deaths in war. I don't believe in rules of war, I believe in winning. since you may be tempted to talk about false pretences for entering GW2, I'll point out that I think victory is the ideal outcome even of a wrong war. Then again I wasn't attempting to even wade into that part of the discussion. I was echoing Austin's apathy.
I thought quoting someone referring directly to "Muslims/Arabs" and then further specifying that same unenlightened savages are our enemy was clear enough. The Iraqis are currently our enemy? Sorry, I don't recall Saddam ever being hostile to Canada.
I note your edits but I answered generally enough to cover them I think.

Unfortunately the Iraq and Afghan invasions weren't carried out with the goal of being victorious. These wars aren't meant to be won, they're meant to be sustainable and prolonged. That much is clear after not one, but two proclamations by both the Bush and Obama administrations that the war had been won and the mission was accomplished. That stated mission objective was also revised about 5 different times after it was proven beyond a reasonable doubt that the evidence presented to the world was an outright fabrication.
I disagree it's the ideal outcome. Coalition forces have every opportunity to withdraw from the conflict honourably, without a whole lot of unreversable damage being done. One of the means of doing this would be to have Rumsfeld, Cheney, and Paul Wolfowitz arrested and/or turned over to the Iraqi people for a trial. I would say send them to the U.N. but we all know the U.N is as concerned with world peace and stability as cats love dogs.

Why don't you sign yourself to the military and go shoot them in the face, rather than staying behind a computer whining and talking about genocide, while doing absolutely nothing about it? Just curious.
