Your results are probably within the normal range and always remember that these genetic tests are only approximate anyway so don't take them too seriously. Your results and known ancestry match up pretty well and that's that. The best you can do is more ancestry research and testing of other family members.

On 23andme I get 0.1 East Asian & Native American but I do not get anything that would point to that on GEDmatch, so are we assuming that's just noise? I was told racial estimates on 23andme is almost never noise, no matter how miniscule the amount.

Then I get 1.1% Balkan, I don't know if that ties in with anything.

Answer me this: if race is a " social construct" ( pretending for a minute that we don't know damned well that it's a biological reality), why can we send in saliva samples and get approximate averages on our ancestry that are either spot on or close to it?

I like it when anthropologists and biologists claim races are social constructs but ethnic groups exist. Thats foolish to say because you could easily argue that they too are social constructs. Im shocked they are not already. They will when certain groups that they [PC, jews, communists, leftists etc...] dislike they will come out and say it. Using the same arguments you could claim ethnic groups are social constructs.

Races are not social constructs. Infact its amazing how traditional anthropology was able to define and group different populations together to form subracial varients and bigger racial categories. These actually correlate with modern genetics and different 'breeding populations' as the social constructed people call them [they call races breeding populations, populations etc...]. They do this because if the word race is removed from science then we will live in a less racist world [so they think].

Im not kidding. I have read several things about this. You can actually get fired in science and ostracized for even suggesting races exist. Most of this 'science' is from Jewish intellectuals in America. Much of these loony ideas come from America too. You are not free to think or even come up with evidence.

Most of these pople that argue races dont exist use a strawman argument where they will argue with you and have themselves defines different races or the definition of it as a completely different species [which is not how the word was traditionally applied at all]. It wasnt until the 19th century with nordicism did you see the usage of the word liberally applied to include ethnic groups. Race is not an ethnic group.

EDIT: Catherine Lejeune, the ancestor who I thought might have had the Miq'maq ancestor, has been shown to have as her mt DNA U6, which originates in North Africa. As of right now, the source of my Native American readings is a mystery. Well, apparently they were able to condense it to the point that they could make the determinations on a chromosomal level. looks like I'm always closest to North Germans! But Neon Knight says that's what it always gives to British Isles people, so maybe it means I average as a Brit, really.

I think I'd be closer to Swedes, Norwegians...and Irish, because I am a quarter Irish.

GEDmatch gives a North German / Danish bias to British Isles people so those results back up your 23andMe - British/Irish with 1/4 to 1/2 Scandinavian. There is not really such a thing as 'averaging out' but you could call yourself GermanoCeltic or NordoCeltic or simply Northwestern European (NWE).

I have a good amount of German blood, too, but I must not have inherited much of that?
