As we all know Lebanon is the most diverse country in the Middle East.
Mount Lebanon

Beirut
Population: 1,000,000
Religion: Christians (Maronite, Greek Orthodox, Melkite, Armenian Apostolic, Armenian Catholic, Protestant etc) 50%, Shia 25%, Sunni 25%
North
Population: 800,000
Religion: Sunni Muslims 54%, Christians 42%, Alawites 3,5%
Beqaa
Population: 750,000
Religion: Shia Muslims 42%, Christians 30%, Sunni 25%, Druze 3%
South
Population: 500,000
Religion: Shia 50%, Sunni 40%, Christians 10%
Nabatieh
Population: 315,000
Religion: Shia 80%, Christians 10%, Sunni 7%, Druze 3%
Obs.: 1. South and Nabatieh are by far the worst and most problematic regions and they don't represent the rest of Lebanon, imo they really should have been annexed by Israel.
2. Two new governorates have been approved but not yet implemented, Akkar (Northern part of North Governorate) and Baalbek-Hermel (Northern part of Beqqa), both of which are Muslim majority. With this North and Beqqa will become Christian majority and should probably join Mount Lebanon.
3. The original definition of Lebanon only included Mount Lebanon and Beirut, which has always been overwhelmingly Christian and still is.
