Nanas birthplace to Great Grandads side. Mums still has some Cousins there.
Until the 1960s, Byker was a Victorian working-class area of densely built terraces. Much of the housing needed major repair and some was considered unfit for human habitation (many houses lacked bathrooms), yet most residents wanted to stay in Byker, an area close to industry on the riverside. In 1966 Newcastle City Corporation took the decision to redevelop the Byker area. The council aimed to clear the slums but keep the community.![]()

The Roma spirit, free and strong, In every heartbeat, in every song.
Through fields and forests, roads unplanned, They roam the world, a nomad band. Beautiful women, heroic men, In the Roma, life’s magic begins again.
"The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep." (John 10:10-11)

I had forgot about this thread
I am only 1/16 Italian, from a paternal grand grandpa of my Venezuelan's dad side (the paternal grandpa of my paternal grandpa). However, I inherited the Italian last name of this Italian grand grandpa (my first surname), and I also feel proud of that small share of Italian heritage, as I am proud of my small share of Amerindian heritage.
Even if 1/16 is not much, it is still part of me, and I would not exist, if it wasn't for it
I have no idea of from which part of Italy my Italian grand grand pa was from, so I will post some random pictures from everywhere in Italy...
