No media outlet named "Eesti Paikesepaiste" (the Estonian word for "sunshine" is properly spelled as "päikesepaiste") exists as far as I know. The president's name is spelled improperly, it's Toomas Hendrik, not Toomas Hendryk. The statement is pretty stupid, too. It's just someone's nonsense.

That was Kristiina Ojuland. I just can't imagine how a prominent politician like her(she is one of the 6 Estonian members of the European parliament) can say things like that.

Politicians aren't stupid. They may be soulless reptiles for the most part, but they do have a certain reptilian, calculating cunning. The career of any politician who made a statement like that, in just about any European country, would be over immediately. The politicos themselves know it, and the PC media knows it, whether they admit it or not.

What's even more surprising that when reading her wikipedia entry in both English and Estonian, I can find no mention of the matter. In almost any other Western European country, such a comment would have been a significant event in anyone's political career.

A significant event in an Estonian politicians career would be if he/she mentioned allowing/bringing in immigrants to Estonia. No party nor a single politician is brave enough to support this.

You see, Estonia is more democratic(it has been picked as the most democratic/most free country in the world in some researches) than most other European countries, thus the majority decides, not the minority. Barely any country in Europe has a population, where every 3rd person is an immigrant.

The point is, the more threatened a certain ethnicity is, the more it values its heritage and culture. Bringing more immigrants to a country where 30% of the population isn't native, means extinction and everyone here know it.

Talking about immigration, I was positively shocked(the Finnish elections are still a topic in the Estonian media) at the completely "un-western" xenophobia among the Finns. Even when Finland barely has any immigrants, when compared to Estonia.
