Another question :

According to the fact several of this pops might have originated from Saxony area, may we confirm I have Saxon ancestors (even though both are distant in time) ? Which would be totally accurate considering they settled massively in central Normandy where 75% of my Norman ancestors comes from.

Those samples are ancient, you cannot really compare them to the actual regions, they can be very different to what their name suggest. For example GermanStuttgart is a neolithic sample, more or less similar to Sardinians. Swedish_LN is also about the same, with more WHG (absorbed later in the neolithic period). Bell Beaker and Corded Ware are more IE oriented. Overall it makes total sense what you get here as best fits, most Europeans are a mix of MN/LN + EMBA to different degrees, but we are looking at a big picture here, in the last 10ky or so.

Actually, Bronze Age Hungarians were more northern shifted than any modern population, so no, that doesn't make you "central Euro". Specifically the Vatya and BR1/BR2 samples(and BR2 is only 1000 BC). It's really weird actually, as it was nowhere else, they were even more northern shifted than bronze age Scandos and Balts.

Thanks a lot to you for your explanations, also to Litvin ! I wondered from which side I score this, if it is from Norman side or Septimanian. Tchek is Belgian (we share somewhat close results which makes sense) and he also get similar score of Hungarian as me on many tests. So I guess it comes maybe from my Norman side or maybe it is just typically Western Euro

Thanks a lot to you for your explanations, also to Litvin ! I wondered from which side I score this, if it is from Norman side or Septimanian. Tchek is Belgian (we share somewhat close results which makes sense) and he also get similar score of Hungarian as me on many tests. So I guess it comes maybe from my Norman side or maybe it is just typically Western Euro

Ancient Hungary was more western, some of their Bronze age samples are always close to to us. It certainly had more eastern influences post BA. There s also the bias of having a lot of samples from Hungary, from the typical neolithic, to the Bronze Age and Copper Age and even some late Hunter survivors (KO1). It's really easy to retrace the region's history as we have samples from each era, which is rare for a country.

Just late neolithic, so lots of WHG/SHG, and already a bit of Bronze Age influence. It's kind of a LN and Bell Beaker cross.
