From October onwards, I shall be working in the Caribbean, but on the Windward Islands, generally more spared by hurricanes than the Leeward islands. I don't know why, possibly because the Trade winds work as a shield. Anyway, my thoughts are with the residents of the Virgin islands, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic and Florida.

There are pictures on Twitter and some of those islands have been shredded to pieces. This was only before one part of eye wall hit the islands too.
