Probably in the 7th century there was no genetical difference between Serbs and Croats.

Mijaks, Brsjaks and people from Kumanovo and Skopska Crna Gora are Serbs, other are Bulgaro-Vlachs (majority).

Many Serbs from present day Fyrom migrated towards the north and northwest in Ottoman time. Some which stayed are macedonized or they belong to Serbian minority (only 36 000).

Well I don't know your branch of I2a1b, but if it is like "serbian" I guess you can have some distant ancestor who were closser to Serb.

I believe that proto Croats and Proto Serbs were both mainly R1a, but also had I2a1b-din North carriers; where as I2a1b-Din south (ph908) was a separate movement of people whom the proto Croats/Serbs assimilated.

Ikavian dialect is compicated and can't be considered to much than stocavian. Still PH908 is always in huge % among the Serbs, and Among the Croats you can find it only in regions where was Serbian presence.
If not migration of Croats from south to north-western Croatia PH908 will be like 10% Among kajkavian Croats.

It is highest in Central Dalmatia in Croatia where never existed Serbian presence. Some Croatian Islands are over 50% I2-dinaric.
