In fact, the climate of Northern Europe is much milder in comparison to other areas of the same latitude around the globe due to the influence of the Gulf Stream. For example:

I’m not a macro-evolutionist, but I’d say it’s obvious that while northern euros have a somewhat better ability to cope with extreme cold than Most the rest, aboriginal Siberian’s probably have them beat.

Although every once in a good while I’ll meet a fellow honkey who exhibits a ludicrously good resistance to cold. Myself, I’d say I’m not really all that tolerant to it, and I’m a good bulk north euro, save a small wee smattering of recent Levantine (AJ stuff)

While February in 2019 was very hot and a Fool's Spring for the UK this year, last February we were hit by the 'Beast from the East' which mixed with 'Storm Emma' in the UK and Ireland.

The blizzard conditions didn't feel that cold to me though when it hit us as it was a very dry type of cold, rather than the damper and more humid type of cold that we're more familiar with here.

Last year we had a long heatwave across south-east England throughout the summer and unsually high temperatures. We had a prolonged summer that led to an Indian Summer in the Autumn. Last year was also one of the driest years on record here with little rainfall.

This year after the Fool's Spring, the has weather cooled again and we've had higher than average rainfall this year and flooding in several places. I personally love the snow, I kinda don't like the rain as much because it seems like I get colder wet than I do when the coldness is dry. I am large framed guy so I produce a lot of heat, I have to reduce my food intake considerably in the summer so I don't produce as much energy or heat. In the winter I never have to wear a coat here unless it's to keep my cloths dry. I also have a low tan threshold before I burn so I have wear I don't stay out in the sun too long. I can get a little tanned but I still look pink . I am definitely not made for the desert or too much sun. Where I live is mountainous so I can hide under trees, but when I lived in the desert I was always getting sun burnt.
