well at least according to Global25 I plot closer to each of those Central and Eastcentral Euro populations than you - I am just mentioning it to make you understand Montenegrin sample is a mistake, like Moldavian is too in Global 25. if we ignore those two, the results are ok, in line with the other calculators/plots.

closer to north Balkans but also closer to Germans/Austrian/Hungarians than you - something doesn't fit. so maybe you are Western-shifted compared to NW Balkans then? towards Italy?

your steppe result was lower I think (I got 47% Yamnaya) so it depends on the calculator sincer we're anyway in the vicinity, genetically.

You are closer to South Balkans and any Balkan. No, I am not shifted towards Italy at all. But I am not close to any samples and that is what Ph2ter noticed. Some Croatian Islands are genetic isolates.

you're over interpreting - saying I am close to Albanians is a bit of a stretch since I get even Swedes closer. I'm almost equally distant to that region as I am to NW Europe, with NW being on average slightly closer. plus, as I was saying, I suspect you are southwest shifted compared to Croat average, otherwise you wouldn't get farther than me to Germans/Austrians/Hungarians which you should be closer to.

No. I just said you are closer to Albanians and Greeks than me, and you are. You get them in top 50 and I don't.
But at the same time you are closer to any other population in the region because I am not that close to anyone.

I am not SW shifted at all. I am almost exactly like Croatian average, but slightly eastern shifted, and a hair southern shifted.


In other words, extremely typical, but at the same time I have some genetic drift probably due to being Islander.
