East Iran has more ancient Central Asian(Gedrosian) + Iranic(Aryan) proportions while West Iran has a stronger pull towards Caucasus and other West Asians. It's complementary to the YDNA data from Iran.
Additional to that East asian ancestry is mostly restricted to areas with Turcoman history (northwest and northeast).
Looks like Medes and Persians absorbed some native West Asian people (like the Gutians for example, but this is speculative)

Don't know to be honest. That's a question for the Iranian members here..
Persians are said to be derived from the Medes aswell. Probably Median + Elamite.
Also Azeris still have a lot of Iranic ancestry. And we still have other Northwestern Iranian groups like the Talysh,Tats or Gilakis.

But the problem is that the Azeris even if we remove their East Eurasian component, would have elevated Gedrosian+IEuropean ancestry too and the problem with those 3 Iranic groups is that they lived closer to the or even right on the Caucasus, so they might not be the best fit for your common Median living around Ectabana.

I think a lot of Persian speakers are mostly Median too. Especially those from Hamedan region. And then there are the Kurds too who are also mostly Median. These groups (like Medes & Persians) are very ancient though, it might not be the smartest thing to look for pure descendants.
