This is why I don't trust all these % whatever + % whatever

Right, you can't take them at face value that's for sure. One thing that has really helped me is that my mom is on GEDmatch too, so I know how she scores. Because she gets South Dutch #1 in populations, I can then look at my 50/50 splits and see that I do indeed get split South Dutch/Hungarian - reinforces the possibility that my father would score Hungarian as his first population. Without this added info from my mother's result, I would have been doing a lot more guessing.

Just for fun, I took my mom's result and my result and went half/half on each component. For instance, if my mom gets 45% North Atlantic, and I get 38%, the difference is 7%. So I take 38% - 7% = 32% North Atlantic for my dad. I did that for every component, made a theoretical kit for him, and plugged in the result:
