Moldovan/Romanian GEDmatch Resuts

i doubt they will add my father in that graphic. although he's fully Moldavian from Vrancea for generations and he only scores Romania and Moldova on 23andme, he plots south with Bulgarians and that will mess up the average. anyone who doesn't meet the expectations is declared mixed and cut off. no one will ever find the moldovian average, at least not on TA.

I think you father is typical southern Moldovan, because people from fully ethnically Moldovan district in RM plot with Bulgarians too, even bit more south than them. And those were academic samples.
It seems like southern Moldovans, regardless are they from Romania or RM are very Balkan genetically, while central and northern regions are quite more Slavic influenced.

Moldova doesn't seem genetically homogenous at all and I speak for full Moldovans not minorities like Ukrainians or Gagauz.

Could you post your father's K13 values? Ion should definitely add him to the chart

Yep all of Romania and R. Moldova generally follow the same North to South gradient, with some minor exceptions here and there.
But Romania's North to South gradient is much stronger in the East than in the West.

That's pretty inaccurate imho.
There were plenty of Moldovans posted on these forums and none of them was anything similar to the 'Moldovans' on G25. Many were posted in Ph2ter's plotting threads and again no such Moldovans.
We don't know exactly what kind of Moldovans these guys are...
Just because they were used in academic study doesn't mean that these studies are hundred percent accurate. There is even a 'Macedonian3' sample in G25 from a study and that guy is not really a Macedonian but Bosniak. There are many Bosniaks in Macedonia and they are pretty much integrated in the country.
Furthermore you can't take samples from a single village in Moldova as representative and average for all ethnic Moldovans.
That would be the same if we collect samples from South-Eastern Bulgarians who live close to Black Sea and take that as an average.
I have few samples from those Bulgarians and all of them end up in the Greek cluster, however that's not the Bulgarian average...
