I guess that Gedmatch cant decide where to assign some DNA-Components of some individuals and something weird as high Red Sea and South Asian comes out as substitution. We shouldnt forget that these calculators are still kind of amateurish.

The truth is that Balkan averages should be calculated by someone with less than 10% Balkan ancestry in order to make sure that there is no bias. For example me, an unbiased "outsider" from a place far away from the Balkans.
On the other hand, I would assign Feiichy and other Balkan users another job, for example you can start collecting African, South Asian, Filipino etc. averages, because you have no agendas in any of these regions.
It is also very mind-opening experience when you have an opportunity to research the genetics of people you have nothing to do with.![]()

Okay but it is still autistic to only focus on your own ethnicity/region/"race". I do the whole world approach.![]()

I would like to make German regional averages, but that's better suited for actual German to make who knows history and surnames of given regions etc.
Balkan samples cannot be collected in proper way by outsider unless you speak to sample carriers directly.
Because you don't know history, population movements and you can't distinguish between surnames which even we often can't.

Also, I definitely don't focus on Balkans since Hungarian regional averages were made by me.

But my opinion is that the Balkans have a lot of overlap between nations. There is more variation within each nation than between nations, and individuals from different Balkan populations can be genetically more similar to each other than individuals from the same Balkan population.
So you would need to have a lot of averages for small regions to distinguish accurately.
Hungarians also overlap with Western Balkans (Croatia, Slovenia) as well as with Moldova to some extent.
Hungarians are kind of intermediate between Central Europe and Balkans (including Moldova/Romania).
