Yeah I just checked and Nordheim/Hofheim are located near Worms, basically the southernmost corner of Hessen:

That is correct, Western German has a Northern and Southern variant. South-Western German however definitely also contains the state of Hessen, Luxembourg, and the German areas of Elsass and Lothringen which are today in France. I have studied plenty of old birth certificates from that area while researching for my family tree and intermarriage between all these areas was very frequent.
