Without wanting to minimize your good work, but wouldn't it be more effective to have less but broader regions, with more samples in them, than so many small regions? Like Croatia Proper, Istria, Dalmatia (+Herzegovina), Slavonia, Bosnia? This same question applies to several other cases of small countries divided into so many small parts.

Croatia is extremely heterogenous climatically and geographically for such a small country plus it has very unstable population history due to centuries long Ottoman wars. Keep in mind most of my averages have very good sample size, only one or two have little.
I would like to make let's say west, east, south, north Croat average plus BiH and capital but that wouldn't make sense. I'll try to explain why.
For example west Croatia includes Istria,Kvarner,Lika and Gorski kotar and these regions have little to do with each other, they have very different history, dialects and origin of populations who settled them. So wider west Croatian average wouldn't say much.
Gorski kotar has very strong German and Slovenian influence historically, Kvarner is mostly native chakavian Croat, Lika-Senj is mostly štokavian Croat immigrant origin from Bosnia-Herzegovina and Istria is even more complex, mix of chakavian natives, štokavian immigrants and historical Italian influence.
This are all well definied historical regions, most of them with medieval roots.
I know it's hard to grasp because in comparison Hungary is much more uniform but Croat lands were extremelly fractured politically, even geographically and thus I made such averages.

My mixed mode with updated averages by vbnetkhio, Ion Basescul and Feiichy, only national, not regional.
