Exactly and I really don't get how people can think we are same/very similar. I've heard many times stories from SFRJ about Slovenes, they never liked JNA and they were only nation who seriously showed their animosity many times, not even Kosovo Albanians did that (one man told me that they didn't want to give him a drink because he came in caffe bar in JNA uniform, he served military service in Ljubljana).

Well, I consider term " Balkan" as cultural, before all.
Its basically just geographic term actually.

For example, this is picture is from Novi Sad, do you think natives did this? No, they didn't (again, my ancestors from mother side came in Vojvodina in 1912. from Southern Croatia and my father came in 1980. with parents from Bosnia, so I'm 1000% unbiased).
Done by drunked, careless teenagers who celebrated end of carantine. You would be suprised how look night life in some greater western cities

That's what I call "Balkanization" or cultural degradation, call it however you want. Slovenia is different world, period.

I'm not familiar with Slovenia too much tbh, but probably it is very different.

Yeah and they came in 18th and 19th century when Ottoman era was over, also no matter they came from Ottoman areas, living in Austro-Hungary for 2 centuries left a big mark, especially in culture, I consider "natives" of Vojvodina as most civilized Serbs, real Central Europeans, while I can't say same for people who came from same regions as my ancestors (of course, there are civilized and uncivilized people everywhere, but on average this is complete truth). Maybe I'm simply stupid, but for me culture and behaviour is most important, much more than phenotypes and genetics.
Colonization was in continuity from 15th century.

Well, OK, that is my definition of Balkan, no one has to agree with me.

This happens constantly, every year from April/May to September/October, I know because I visit NS often. They are not careless teenagers, they are primitive bastards, I was teen too and I never did such things. About Western world, well, I was in Germany and Italy in cities bigger than NS and haven't noticed that much garbage on streets.

Different worlds, in my honest opinion.

I will admit that I'm not expert in history of Vojvodina (I mean, before 20th century) but as far as I know, biggest migrations happened in late 17th and early 18th century, right?

    It's either Croatia or Serbia.

Turkey is not a country from the Balkans, by the way.

Coastal Dalmatia very similar to south Italy. Indland Dalmatia Balkan. But north Adriatic is different story, it is closest to NE Italy and Slovenia. Different planet from coastal Dalmatia.

Better city cleanliness system in West. They are literally just young people, nothing to do with regional differences between domestic people in Vojvodina and newcommers.

Vojvodina was important part of Hungary since 10. century, the local serbs were influenced by hungarians and later germans a lot, that's why they are differents than other serbs, it has historically and culturally reasons. Basically there were two cultural influence in Balkans: austro-hungarian and ottoman, these who adopted the ottoman culture and religion (albanians, bosnians) were less advanced than others.

It wasn't actually. Most of Vojvodina was unsettled for long time. Southern Banat was literally empty for centuries. Just steppes and swamps.
Vojvodina is very poor with medieval hertige as well.

Basically there were two cultural influence in Balkans: austro-hungarian and ottoman
What about Byzantine and Slavic? Hungarians are also significatntly influenced by Slavs.

there was no byzantine after ottomans, they destroyed them. hungarians and slavs influenced each other, but basically the austro-hungarian and ottoman were the most significant. Slavs had no strong political power unlike these two big empire.
and vojvodina was important agricultural area before ottomans and after the ottoman destruction except the 150 years occupation.
