Yes, Lurî and Feylî Kurds are both Shia but this conversion happened recently. Formerly, they were Yarsan. Yarsanism in itself shares many similarities with Shia Islam (although not in its pure, original form but rather in its modern, corrupted form), hence why it became more attractive to them.
Genetically speaking, Lurîs are interesting as they have high levels of E-M78. The highest in Iran, apparently. A significant portion of this E-M78 would be V13.
