In Serbia it exists only in Banat and Novi Sad. I have a friend from Banat who also has a surname that derives from the Romanian language, though that ancestor was probably an actual ethnic Romanian in his case.

I don't know if Mortimer was raised strictly Serbian. He was not raised in Serbia but in Austria. We don't know what his upbringing would've been like had he been raised in his home country.

His mom, who has no Serbian ancestry, identifies herself as a Serbian woman and that's how she raised her kids. This guy is also diaspora, though I have no idea if he grew up abroad or here.
