I don’t get why my family and I always score trace amounts of Melanesian or somewhere in the vicinity on these off brand calcs

Didn't u say a long time ago u had a Hispanic or native ancestor.. if so almost all Hispanics pick up Austronesian with their native/Chinese ancestry on 23andme- natives came from Mongolia and china but they also had Austronesian ancestors hence why some natives are so dark

Mm no, I have an SSA ancestor that I confirmed. I did come across someone from the Mi’kmaq tribe on my family tree but I never score any native on tests so I dismissed it.

As long as u guys converted to a csv file under 50mb then that's strange. I uploaded my 23andme my wife's Ancestry DNA and my dad's my heritage and the only took 2 days.

I sent then my ftdna data its same file I send to most companies and always works. As said they did process info about traits etc
everything but my ancestry and it has been around 7 or 8 days since I uploaded. I didnt give them accurate info in their questions about my ancestry as I believe a legitimate calculator should be able to determine something about ancestry anyway i wonder if they partly base their result based on peoples answers to ancestry questions if so or if thats what they use to help them then thats cheating. The questions they ask are about ancestry of parents and 4 grandparents ... i dint give them real answers and i dont have an ancestry result so its interesting.

Well ok but papua new Guineans from Oceania are basically direct Africans so that could be it

Yes, FTDNA raw data is accepted in Gedmatch, MyHeritage, Yourdnaportal, Genoplot, Admixture studio, dna.land... almost all genetic research sites.
I dont know why is there problem with this one. I re-send my data to their help center.

Its more than a week and they still havnt processed my ancestry result only traits etc.
Is it because I didnt let them cheat and didnt give consistant answers to their ancestry questions ?
Why should I , if they are legitimate they should be able work out my ancestry with their calculator.

I actually wouldn't mind telling them my paper trail, if it meant that they could then focus their calculator (remove irrelevant populations), to model me accordingly. I'd be more interested how I could be modeled with the most relevant populations, rather than them making a statistical guess as to how to phase my result.

I will say that they should be transparent if they do in fact fine-tune their calculator when you provide your ancestral info i.e. 'If you provide your known ancestry, we can further refine and focus your result by adjusting our calculator'. That's okay with me.

But if they are not transparent about that, or worse yet simply manufacture a fake result based on how you answer their questions, obviously that's not cool.

I did not try this service, but if you get a good result I may give it a try.
