What's conspicuous is how few are closest to English, even though most of the samples are I assume from England. An indication of how dissimilar modern English are from Celtic Britons. My guess is that most of the Scandinavian-like samples are from Bronze Age Britain/France, the Italian-like samples are from the Alpine region/Central Europe, and Iron Age Britons are of course the ones most similar to modern Insular Celts and Bretons

Yes makes sense. There is that North Dutch/South Dutch divide in genetics also.

Do we know whether those replacements / shifts were peaceful or not? Or maybe it also had something to do with a much faster population growth?
