Interesting video in it's entirety, but in particular from 43min Georgievski talks about Macedonian political prisoners in Yugoslavia - supporters of VMRO of Vancho Mihailov, or Mihailovists. He admits most identified as ethnic Bulgarians, even though they supported a united and independent Macedonia. However he also acknowledges that some identified as ethnic Macedonians, even though they were Mihailovists.
Also, he fails to mention ethnic Macedonian nationalists, like Dragan Bogdanovski and others, who also were political prisoners. Nevertheless a good video.

Sad. In all of his videos regarding history, he tries to interpret everything so it could sound more acceptable for the northmacedonian society.Yet, still large amout of people do not understand him.
I remember an interview where people asked him why he lied them and used the great ancient history as a tool in the early 90's, when today he has pro-Bulgarian views. He said that this was the best thing to do during that time as he had to boost the national identity because 90%of the people didn't even want an independent republic.

Bulgaria should have let people like Ljubco tell the story instead of vetoing EU negotiations. This single move set back reconciliation between Macedonians and Bulgarians decades. Before this, we had VMRO-DPMNE and VMRO-BND jointly celebrating Todor Aleksandrov for example, and the MOC requesting the BOC as mother Church, with much support of Macedonian-Bulgarians in Bulgaria. Now, we're at each others throats again. Silly move by Bulgaria.

Why aren't Macedonians uniting with Bulgaria? They would be way stronger.
Classify me, thanks in advance

People like Ljubcho are hidden from the masses. Your masters from Belgrade want it to be like this. You have to follow Georgievski's personal pages in order to listen to what he says. When regular people follow the mass media and check his videos, they become aggressive towards him as you can see from some of the comments below the video. That's one of the reasons for the veto, because officially you are anti-Bulgarian. Within the EU, one member country cannot base its politics on hate towards another member. Or I am mistaken?
These mutual celebrations were very much two faced, especially the fyromian side.

The bigger part of Macedonia was never part of Bulgaria during the 20th century. If it was, the organization called VMRO wouldn't be active.
Last time when Macedonia was somewhat part of Bulgaria, was during the Bulgarian Exarchate. And then the enemy of the Macedonian Slavs weren't the Exarchos, but the Greeks and Serbs.

Bigger part of Macedonia was part of Bulgaria in WW1 and WW2 - total about 8 years. In WW2 things started off fine, but then mismanagement by Bulgarian state officials made things not so rosy.
As for late 19th century, Macedonian Slavs were split in their loyalties between Exarchate and Patriarchate, and to a lesser extent Serbian nationalism. Again, things were not so rosy in Macedonia back then.

Four years during WW1 and four years during WW2. Yes, one can make great conclusions based on 4 years of rule with 20-25 years difference between the two rules. Keep in mind that most soldiers in Macedonia during WW2 were actually born in Macedonia. And then again, if Germany didn't lost the war, Vardar would have been like Pirin Macedonia today. And the IMRO wouldn't be a notable organisation today, because if these territories had remained within Bulgaria, there wouldn't be anybody to fight against. Probably only in Greece.
During the late 19th century, the fight between patriarchists and exarchists was the same everywhere in South Bulgaria. So your situation back then wasn't unique.
As far as I know, most of the notable IMRO founders and principals were graduates of the Bulgarian Exarchate schools. It's quite simple, the Bulgarian Exarchate +IMRO fought for the rights of the people in Macddonia against Greeks and Serbs. I will not say how these people felt, you can do this for homework.
