The County Glatz is interesting. It most of the time belonged to Bohemia, when the Prussians besides the biggest part od Silesia took it too in 1741. Since then it's viewed as a part of Silesia. But nevertheless the inhabitants od the County Glatz had an own, somewhat seperate from the Silesian mainstream, identity. The county is surrounded 3/4 by mountain ridges and has just one opening towards the rest of Silesia.

I now noted that it has an elevated genetic similarity with pops towards the Balkans. Did here some Vlach-like people come along the Carpathians, Beskids and Sudets? Vlachs in Moravia are in the records of history...

Vlachs were semi-nomadic pastoralists well into late Medieval times and they wandered and settled down everywhere in the Balkans and East-Central Europe. Who knows, maybe they even reached West Silesia in bigger numbers, even though I doubt there are any historic records about this. But interestingly I don't see this great Balkanic influence in them, they seem to be mostly an East German/East-Central European mix:

Yes they arrived in Moravia but I heard it was their last stop. But Sudetes were sparcely inhabited so who knows maybe they wandered too.

Germans in Czech Republic (and areas near by like county Glatz) are more Austrian like ("SE German") than north-eastern German like (Meck-Pom, Prussia etc).
They seem mix of southern Germans and Slavs more or less.

But I don't see special Balkanic influence either. It's just that central Euro Celts were pretty woggy genetically, and even heavily overlapping Balkan Illyrians.
These Germans probably have high Celtic affinity.

Czech IA is more northern shifted, but it has some outliers who look very Germanic and not Celtic (Scandinavian like samples)
this kind of DNA is probably responsible for southernish shift of some Germans (plus actual Roman DNA but in czech lands it was not the case, unless indirect transmission - austrian settlers for eg.)

So basically it's obvious that continental Celts were basically like some Frenchmen and some Northern guidos?
