I view gray eyes more as a desaturated subtype of blue eyes, which may also include desaturated blue-green eyes. Light green eyes are distinct from gray eyes, and for example in some cases green eyes that have a light yellow ring in the middle can look more like "light green" than medium green. In the image below, I didn't include separate classes for eyes with a yellow or brown ring, because the ring is sometimes hard to see from a single photo, especially if the photo is not high-resolution or if the pupils are not small. Therefore some of the examples under the class "Medium blue-gray-green" also seem to have a yellow or brown ring.
I classified each person in the image above based on a single photo, and I would've probably classified many of them differently based on multiple photos. In practice it's not reliable to use a scale with this many classes when you're classifying people based on a single photo.
