German Brazilian from Santa Catarina. The old meme (if anyone still remembers it) "I'm Southern Brazilian, therefore Germanic" is sometimes true

From Oberbayern, born in a town in the Southeastern corner of Bavaria. I guess Oberbayern should be indistinguishable from the adjacent parts of Austria.

This is not obvious at all, the ones who stayed in Poland could not consider themselves Germans because they would have been expelled.
And the surname is not Germanic (Piotr is a Slavic name, while Peter is a German name).
If they were Peterschke, I would say that the surname is German. But not Piotraschke.
I used to be Peterski on this forum, but Piotraschke sounds even cooler, more Slavic.

This has probably already been seen, but here's another Lauenburg-Stolp result that came up as a match of Creoda's above. One great-grandparent and one 2x great-grandparent from just across the border in West Prussia. Much the same genetically.

Some of them still live in Poland.
And these who are now in Germany - it is possible that they stayed in Poland even until the 1980s or 1990s and then emigrated.
There were big waves of emigration to Germany for economic reasons as you know, not necessarily connected to ethnicity at all.
