This is not obvious at all, the ones who stayed in Poland could not consider themselves Germans because they would have been expelled.

And the surname is not Germanic (Piotr is a Slavic name, while Peter is a German name).

If they were Peterschke, I would say that the surname is German. But not Piotraschke.

I used to be Peterski on this forum, but Piotraschke sounds even cooler, more Slavic.

I very much doubt it. I've read a little bit about some of the most Slavic villages in the Stolp area, and town after town, the natives were expelled after World War II.
