AMEN!Fox News and other pro "republican" media are plagued with neocons who are corrupt, globalist and warmongers to the core. I see coherence, integrity and critical thinking in Tucker Carlson and not much more unfortunately. Anyway there is an intense propaganda war going on, that is common on all wars, now it was taken into extremes of ridiculousness, journalists don't try to look at both sides and just follow mostly unchecked rumors and side stories to manipulate emotions and public opinion.
I don't see evidence that Putin is a communist, from the moral values standpoint he is far more conservative than many western right wing parties ( not even comparable with liberal minded parties like the Democrat), the re-christianization was actively promoted, abortion restricted, the family values defended against subversive agendas etc. Economically Russia has a mixed capitalist system.
He grew up in the Soviet Union so he could not avoid not being part of the KGB if he wanted to follow a career in the intelligence services, he didn't had a choice back then, that doesn't mean he believed in the ideology.
What some Americans fail to understand is that for Russians (especially the older generations) communism is not an anathema, still many people look with benevolence to their past, with all its faults and historical atrocities still many millions of people after the Kruschev period managed to have a decent life and they were part of a political/military super power. The collapse of the USSR was truly a social and geopolitical disaster for Russians, during the 1990's it was complete chaos, lawlessness, extreme poverty, degradation and the country completely runned by oligarchs. That's what many Russians who lived it think and that was the context on wich Putin said it. He did a colossal job rebuilding and giving a direction to a ruined country, that is why he is so popular and most people trust him even in difficult/unpopular decisions like the conflict in Ukraine.
Anyway Putin is not eternal and he will be replaced sooner or later, I don't have problems with a cold war scenario multipolar world, it might even help to dismantle the current western globalist elites (the current WO who I don't need to tell you, have been working for world domination and screwing countless countries including ours) and that is going to be a good thing for the west, the sooner the better imo.
